Senior Occupational Therapist

Mabel Sim

Mabel is an Occupational Therapist who graduated from University of South Australia with a Master of Occupational Therapy. Mabel has lived 10 years in Adelaide, Australia, before moving back to Singapore to launch her career as a Paediatric Occupational Therapist. She is registered with the Allied Health Professional Council (AHPC) and Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

Mabel has practiced in a variety of settings, ranging from Early Intervention Centres, mainstream preschools, paediatric intensive therapy centres, aged care facilities, mental health settings (acute hospital and community groups).

Mabel brings with her experience of being a Key Worker, which shaped her to be a strong advocate for inclusion. As a result, she is also a firm believer in coaching and empowering families and teachers to carry out intervention strategies at home and at school respectively, such that intervention strategies can be seamlessly integrated in the child’s natural environment. Having briefly worked in a Paediatric Intensive Therapy Centre, Mabel is also an advocate for providing innovative and individualised intensive treatment to children with neurological/ physical impairments or learning difficulties, to maximise their potential in participating in everyday activities.

Mabel is experienced in providing individualised one-to-one treatment, group treatments, as well as centre-based and school-based intervention to children and adolescents. This covers a wide range of conditions including Autism Spectrum Disorders, Developmental Delays, Sensory Processing Disorder, Attention Deficit Disorders, Dyspraxia, Cerebral Palsy, Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD), Genetic Disorders, Muscular Dystrophy as well as children with learning difficulties.

Outside of work, Mabel does rock climbing and finds joy in exploring new places for food.
