Dr. Sanveen Kang is a distinguished and compassionate psychologist, widely recognized for her unwavering commitment to advancing mental health and well-being. As the Founder and Lead Clinical Psychologist of Psych Connect Singapore, Dr. Kang brings a wealth of expertise and a deep passion for transformative mental health care.

She has been a trusted psychological therapy and assessment provider for corporations, educational institutions, government entities, hospitals, social service agencies, and individuals or families seeking involved and empathetic care, for over 18 years of experience. Sanveen has always been committed to developing innovative therapeutic programs and leading mental health professionals and, had led multi-disciplinary and specialist psychology and allied health teams in the private practice sector in Singapore. Prior to starting Psych Connect, she designed and ran three services for children and families with complex mental health and neurodevelopmental difficulties.

Sanveen is trained in the use of a wide range of psychotherapeutic interventions such as but, not limited to Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Schema Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Sand Tray and Symbol Play Therapy, Triple P Parenting, SMART (Sensory Motor Arousal Regulation Therapy), Yoga-Based Psychotherapy for Trauma (YBPG) and Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT).

Sanveen has an interest in the mind-body connection. She is an avid believer in the role of the autonomic nervous system and, sensory regulation and arousal in psychological intervention. She is of the opinion that physical and emotional health are intimately intertwined. As such, she incorporates the body and somatic regulation into her psychotherapy.

  • Helping women with trauma and pain management associated with Pelvic congestion syndrome (PCS),
  • Supporting emotional and relational difficulties arising from pre and post-natal complications and issues and,
  • Using Yoga-Based Psychotherapy in the management of trauma symptoms.

Sanveen has also received specialized training in conducting diagnostic psychological, neuropsychological and educational assessments across the lifespan; from early childhood, as young as 12 months old, to late adulthood. She has expertise in diagnostic assessments for a range of conditions including but not limited to dyslexia, dyscalculia, dysgraphia, autism, adhd, social communication disorder, personality disorders and dyspraxia. Her experience extends to understanding the developmental nature of these conditions as they progress from child to adulthood, and variance in symptomatology when considering gender difference.

Adopting a non-judgemental, holistic approach in her evaluation and intervention, Sanveen has also been working closely with the international schools in Singapore and the surrounding region, as well as schools under the purview of the Ministry of Education, Singapore. She is a certified user of the Singapore Ability Scales (SAS). Moreover, Sanveen conducts child custody evaluations and contributes to medical legal evaluations.

Having lived and worked across three continents, Sanveen is familiar with difficulties relating to expatriation and is sensitive to cultural adjustment issues. She has offered support to clients from both local and expatriate populations. She is especially well suited to consult on cross-cultural disputes and negotiations.
