(Available for sessions in January 2025)

Sara Mammen

Sara is a Clinical Psychologist with over 10 years’ experience working with children and youth with neurodiverse conditions. Sara’s journey with neurodiversity began when she supported children diagnosed with autism in primary schools in London. Sara’s passion lies in decoding behaviour by connecting with children and employing positive behaviour support. Sara holds a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology, and is a Registered Psychologist in Singapore. Sara holds a graduate diploma in Applied Behaviour Analysis from the Florida Institute of Technology and is a Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA).

Sara has worked extensively with children on the autism spectrum and other developmental conditions. In addition to being adept in client centred therapy, Sara is also skilled in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) techniques such as Differential Reinforcement of Lower Rates of Behavior (DRL) and Differential reinforcement of other behavior (DRO) aimed at replacing challenging behaviours with socially acceptable ones. She has also employed Social Thinking with children and teenagers to encourage emotional regulation and strengthen their social skills.

Sara has experience providing holistic support to children and adolescents with conditions such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Global Developmental Delay (GDD) and Chromosomal Disorders in a social service agency in Singapore. In addition to providing early intervention and behaviour support, Sara worked closely with caregivers to help them be in-tune with their children and to strengthen their behaviour toolkit at home. Sara was actively involved in conducting caregiver workshops focused on behaviour management techniques and providing consultation for caregivers, teachers, and other stakeholders to enhance their children’s overall development. Sara is also experienced in conducting standardised psychological assessments and was instrumental in facilitating the School Readiness Programme for students graduating from the Early Intervention programme.

Sara’s most recent experience at, The Winstedt School, an inclusive international school enabled her to provide individual and small-group counselling to students who experienced emotional and social challenges in school and at home. Sara co-ordinated and led the school-wide Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Curriculum and delivered the SEL curriculum through weekly sessions for children in the Early Years programme. She also facilitated support groups for caregivers who experienced stress with their neurodiverse children.

While working with individuals and their families, Sara focuses on closely collaborating with caregivers and other professionals to ensure the child’s holistic development. She specialises in customising strategies to meet each child’s unique needs and profile. Sara is a strong advocate of the belief that every child has the potential to learn and thrive in a safe and nurturing environment. Her emphasis has always been to empower those with neurodiverse conditions to be independent and self-sufficient citizens of the world.

Sara has a keen interest in working with children and adolescents who face challenges in their daily lives due to neurodiversity. She has worked extensively with families of children/adolescents with the following conditions:

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
  • Specific Learning Difficulties (such as Dyslexia, Dysgraphia and Dyscalculia)
  • Global Developmental Delay (GDD) and Chromosomal disorders
  • Social Anxiety
  • Emotional regulation
  • Challenging behaviour
