Dr. Taralyn Teo

Principal Clinical & Educational Psychologist

Dr. Taralyn Teo

Dr. Taralyn Teo is a clinical psychologist who provides therapy to individuals of all ages, including adults, adolescents, and young children. She also has strong expertise in working with couples and families, offering parent-child dyadic therapy and play therapy. Her clinical experience spans a wide range of concerns such as anxiety, depression, stress, anger, burnout, trauma, self-esteem, identity development, grief, and relationship challenges.

Her approach is warm, collaborative, and thoughtfully tailored to each client. Grounded in psychodynamic principles, she also integrates techniques from cognitive- behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and mindfulness practices. With young children, she draws on child-centered play therapy to support emotional growth and healing in a developmentally appropriate way. When working with couples, Dr. Teo incorporates Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to help partners improve communication and deepen their emotional connection through guided conversations.

Dr. Teo is known for creating a safe, non-judgmental space where clients feel heard and supported. With empathy and curiosity, she helps individuals explore their inner world, build insight, and decide on meaningful changes aligned with how they wish to live—with greater intention, authenticity, and purpose. Especially with adults navigating the emotional toll of work burnout, Dr. Teo journeys with them to ease stress, reconnect to their lives, and restore a sense of emotional balance. In addition to therapy, Dr. Teo is experienced in conducting psychological and educational assessments. Her prior work in KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital, where she screened children for developmental delays, as well as in public schools in New York, has equipped her to assess and support students navigating learning differences or transitioning between education systems. Her assessments are used to highlight each child’s learning strengths and needs, helping to guide effective educational planning and maximize their ability to learn in schools.

Having lived and worked in both the US and Singapore, Dr. Teo brings a cross-cultural lens to her practice. She is attuned to the complexities of relocation, adjustment, and identity development, and has supported clients from both local and expatriate communities. Her sensitivity to cultural context makes her especially well-suited to help clients navigate life transitions, cross-cultural challenges, and relationship dynamics in our global world.
