Many of Saher's clients arrive exhausted after years spent trying to fit themselves into moulds that were never quite right for them. They come to her with anxiety, depression, grief, identity questions, life transitions, relationship difficulties, or workplace pressures. The one question often circling beneath the surface is: Who am I, really, and how do I want to live? Saher offers a warm, non-judgemental space in which clients can explore that question openly and at their own pace.
Her approach is warm, collaborative and shaped around each client's personal and cultural context. She combines deep listening and empathy with practical strategies drawn from Person-Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy. She helps clients map patterns in thoughts, emotions and behaviours, explore connections to past experience, and supports the development of self-compassion and more flexible ways of responding to life’s challenges.
Saher also runs a group bibliotherapy programme, the first of its kind in Singapore. Bringing together small groups to read and reflect on carefully curated literature choices, she helps participants generate greater understanding and insight around important topics such as identity and post-traumatic growth. The programme helps participants view their own life experiences through new perspectives and opens new paths forward.
Saher works with adults from all backgrounds, including LGBTQ+ clients and those navigating cross-cultural or diaspora experiences. Having grown up in Singapore as a third-culture kid and having lived across three continents as an adult, she understands from the inside what it means to live between worlds, and brings that same sensitivity to clients wrestling with questions of identity and belonging.
Before her transition into the mental health space, Saher spent close to 15 years as a communications professional, working closely with a variety of global stakeholders and communities across multilateral institutions and academia on topics such as youth, gender and education, before moving into communications for the international finance sector. She has a lived understanding of the pressures that come with demanding careers, career change, and navigating reinvention.
Alongside her clinical work, Saher volunteers on a helpline supporting women in Singapore, providing real-time emotional support and psychological first aid to callers in crisis.
